1 ~ Table Mountain (entrance fee on request)
The icon of South Africa! Take the trip to the top of Table Mountain by aerial cableway, weather permitting that is, and experience some of the world's most spectacular views.

2 ~ V&A Waterfront (no entrance fee)
This working harbour and shopping/entertainment development has become Cape Town's and South Africa's best visited tourist attraction. Some of the many attractions are the Two Oceans Aquarium, the IMAX cinema with its 5-story screen specializing in spectacular nature documentaries, SA Maritime Museum, and over 350 shops, boutiques and restaurants.

3 ~ Cape Town City Centre
When visiting the City Centre, take in a stroll around the Company (Dutch East India) Gardens, the historical centre of the "mother city", and visit the nearby craft market on Greenmarket Square. Visit the Muslim Bo-Kaap area on the slopes of Signal Hill before driving to the top for the scenic views over the city and Table Bay.

4 ~ Castle of Good Hope (Entrance Fee on request)
The Castle of Good Hope is the oldest surviving building in South Africa. It was built between 1666 and 1679. In 1936 the Castle was declared a national monument. The Castle was built on fear that war was brewing between Britain and the Netherlands.

5 ~ Robben Island (tour fee on request)
Take the boat across from Table Bay to Robben Island, and take a conducted tour of this former prison island, including listening to the experiences of a former political prisoner, as well as viewing the cell where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.

6 ~ Kirstenbosch Gardens (entrance fee on request)
Spend a pleasant few hours wandering around the internationally renowned Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, situated on the slopes of Table Mountain. This enormous area comprises beautifully manicured gardens, natural, unspoiled walks on the forested mountain slopes, and over 8000 different plant species.

7 ~ Boulders Beach (entrance fee on request)
Visit the historic naval town of Simonstown, and the ever popular penguin colony, at Boulders Beach. It is one of only two mainland breeding colonies.

8 ~ Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve (entrance fee on request)
The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve is renowned for its rich, diverse and unique fauna and flora. The Reserve also boasts an abundance of bird life and offers the best land based sea bird watching.

9 ~ Table Bay from the ocean (entrance fee on request)
Experience the Cape Town bay under motor or sail. Just a short 1 hour trip in and around the spectacular bay.

10 ~ Seal Island (entrance fee on request)
Take a short cruise to view the seal population of Seal Island, just off Hout Bay.

11 ~ Hermanus
During the months of July through to November, there are spectacular whale viewing opportunities from some of the best land based sites in the world. Apart from the whales however, Hermanus has immense charm and character, with the locals singing their opera openly in the market square, the shopping boutiques and the wonderful coastal setting of the town.

12 ~ Winelands
Cape Town is the main gateway to the main South African winelands. Over 100,000 hectares of vineyards are cultivated and wine is made in more than 340 wine cellars and estates. The Cape boasts five wine-growing regions, all having their own wine routes where visitors are always welcome. Some of the main areas are: -
Paarl - Approximately 50km from Cape Town, Paarl lies in the fertile Berg River Valley. One of the town's major attractions are the cellars of KWV, which spearheads the export drive in quality wines and brandies to global markets.
Stellenbosch - Renowned for its Cape Dutch architecture and oak tree-lined streets, the picturesque university town of Stellenbosch has been a major centre for South Africa's wine production for more than 300 years.
Franschhoek - Set in a picturesque valley, an hour's drive from Cape Town, Franschhoek offers visitors a wide range of wines to accompany fine French cuisine.
