Garden Route & Little Karoo

1 ~ Cango Caves (entrance fee on request)

Tucked away in the foothills of the Swartberg mountains, only 28km from Oudtshoorn, lie the Cango Caves - a place of great natural beauty and a national monument. The Cave extends for 5.3km, in a series of large phreatic chambers connected linearly by low passages and crawls.

2 ~ Ostrich Farms (entrance fees on request)

Visit a local ostrich farm to find out more about these prehistoric creatures as well as attempting to ride one of the cholesterol free 'beasts' if the mood dictates!

3 ~ The Cango Wildlife Ranch (entrance fee on request)

The Cango Wildlife Ranch is the Garden Route's premier conservation destination where you can meet a host of endangered animals. From a raised walkway, you can see cheetah, lion, puma, jaguar and the white Bengal tigers in action. There is also a snake park, where you can view unusual and rare reptiles.

4 ~ Diaz Museum, Mossel Bay (entrance fee on request)

The Bartolomeu Diaz Museum Complex encompasses a wealth of places of historical interest. The Old Post Office Tree is the most famous. The milkwood tree is more than 500 years old and was the first 'Post Office' in South Africa. A replica of The Caravel, on which Bartolomeu sailed, is the main item of interest at the Diaz Museum Complex.
